Helms and Associates has been the consultant for the Brookings Regional Airport since 2004. For the majority of this time, they have been working on a complex Dual Track Environmental Assessment project which focuses on realigning our main runway or moving the airport to a new location. They have also completed a variety of other projects including a new SRE building, new fencing, runway rehabilitation, and electrical work.

I have personally been working with Helms and Associates since I became Airport Manager in Brookings in 2007. All of the projects that we have worked on together have gone smoothly, and I have been extremely satisfied with the finished project. Whenever I have a question about something around the airport, I call Helms and Associates, and someone is either able to answer my question or research the issue and promptly get back to me with an answer. They also have an excellent working relationship with our ADO. We have had some projects arise due to FAA Certification and equipment failure. After a phone call to Helms and Associates explaining the issue, they have been able to assist me in securing federal funding for the projects.

Helms and Associates is located almost three hours from our airport, but they are always a phone call away. I usually see someone from their office at least once per month. They do an excellent job of making it seem as though they are located in Brookings. I continue to be impressed by the hard work, communication, knowledge, and professionalism of Helms and Associates.
